Most local villages have at least one day per week where an outdoor market is organized in the main square. You are almost assured that in some lovely French village close by there will be an outdoor market.

For example, every Friday morning, the historical town of Valbonne, has a large outdoor market starting around 9am and lasting until 1pm. Here you can find not only great fresh produce, French saucisson, cheese, bread and sweets, but also many local crafts and products such as French table cloths and accessories, pottery, clothes and jewelry.

The produce will be an abundance of whatever is in season, such as gorgeous cherries and apricots in June.
